Medication management is a level of outpatient treatment that involves the initial evaluation of the individual’s need for psychotropic medications, the provision of a prescription, and ongoing medical monitoring related to the individual’s use of the psychotropic medication by a qualified physician/prescriber. Medication management includes monitoring, reconciling medications, and ensuring individuals get the desired outcomes. Talk Therapy is a term for a variety of treatment techniques that aim to help an individual identify and change troubling emotions, thoughts, and behavior. Talk therapy takes place with a licensed and trained mental health professional and an individual meeting one-on-one or with other individuals in a group setting. The purpose of talk therapy is to help individuals identify issues that cause emotional distress. Talk therapy may also simply serve as a safe place to explore feelings and emotions triggered by daily stressors, a medical illness, relationship issues, grief and loss, or the impact of a specific trauma.
