The Potter’s House Homes for Children is a residential program for children and adolescents. It is based on the belief that the responsibility for healing and the possibility to live together again must be placed directly on the family. This family-centered emphasis provides the best opportunity for successful reunification. Our staff will determine what problems prevent family reunification and work to resolve them through family and home-based services.
Primary features of our residential programs include:
- 24-hr awake staff available with a staff to resident ratio based on the intensity of the program
- Typical ratio is 1:2
- A highly structured daily and weekend schedule which includes time for daily chores and laundry, homework, community and daily living activities, a structured recreation, social skills training, group therapy, and education.
- Daily intensive group therapy sessions cover topics such as grief and loss, anger management, relationships, team building, and social skills.
- Individual and Group mental health counseling takes place on a weekly basis
- A Sunday worship service is offered for those who wish to participate
- A state-of-the-art Education Center where youth can continue their school curriculum while in the residential treatment program is offered
